FAQ

Not at all. Aikido uses motion sequences that are “built into” our bodies. The founder of Aikido wanted to make his art a gift to all people on earth. That’s why our philosophy is to be patient with students and to teach them patience. Our oldest student was 80 years old when he started, without any experience in any martial art.

You automatically become athletic with training. So just try it out.

We attach great importance to being healthier after a training session than before. That’s why we all only do as much as we can, or as much as is appropriate for our physical condition.

Long sweatpants and a T‑shirt, preferably long-sleeved. We also train barefoot, so if that’s too cold, you’re welcome to wear socks. But you usually warm up quickly.

The first trial training sessions are free. After three to four sessions, you should have a good sense of whether you want to join us permanently. If you want to try it out for a longer period of time, you can purchase a ten-ticket pass for €25.

Membership costs €25 for adults and €15 for young people, students, unemployed individuals, community service workers, and apprentices. Reduced fees are also available for families.

A trial session is integrated into the normal training, only that you are accompanied by an experienced Aikidoka. A training session begins with a greeting ritual, followed by a warm-up. Various techniques are then demonstrated, which the students then practise with alternating partners. The session ends with the closing ritual.
